The new Star Wars trailer is pretty impressive. Unlike the teaser which produced a mixed reaction amongst fans the trailer was widely applauded. The effects look good. The key part of any Star Wars film is the effects, if the effects are not good people will not enjoy the movie.
The decision to go with practical effects instead of CGI has paid off as the vehicles and the storm-troopers look and feel tangible.
Hopefully the movie has a strong plot which does justice to the franchise.
The villain we see in the trailer the one with the metal face seems a bit "GI JOEy"
but hopefully Abrams manages to pull it off.
I personally found the cross blade lightabre to be childish...it seemed like a blatant merchandising ploy to me hopefully in the movie they explain the cross guard and everything.
