Musings on Star Wars
fans have been intensely divided over the new Star Wars Force Awakens teaser. many have complained about the special effects which seem lack lustre. The Original and the Prequel trilogy were both reknowned for their visual effects. Its always hard to predict how the movie will be received the makers of the movie may find it hard make it as good as the original trilogy. Its important to remeber that the original trilogy was more than just a movie. It had a very large effect on popular culture as well.
The only other sci fi series which has had this much effect on the public consciousness is the Star Trek series. George Lucas took inspiration from various sources to create the original trilogy.
ON the nature of the force:
In both the prequel and original trilogy the force plays a prominent part. While it is never explicitly described what the force is the closest parallel can be perhps drawn to the Indian mythological concept of "Brahman". According to Indian Mythology "Brahman" is the supernatural force which permeates all living and non living things. The force in Star Wars acts similarly ..it permeates all living and non living things. And certain "force sensitive" individuals can use the force to move objects annd perform other feats which a normal person is not capable of performing.
On the Spaceships:
another thing of note in the series are the spaceships which are highly detailed. A lot of work has gone into conceptualizing the design of these spaceships. Part of the reason for the series popularity and the richness and details of the Star Wars universe is the amazing amount of detail that went into creationg the vehicles of Star Wars. There are a large number of vehicles starting from walking tanks like the AT-ATs and the space fighter planes X shaped which are known as the X-Wing fighters.
On the sound effects
The sound effects are very distinctive the blasters have a very unique sound which everybody recognizes.
